Worth the Wait Spaghetti Sauce



  • 3/4 cup chopped onion
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 3 TBS olive oil
  • 2 1lb cans (4 cups) tomatoes
  • 2 6oz cans (1 1/3 cups) tomato paste
  • 1 1/2 tsp each of salt, pepper and crushed oregano
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 bay leaf
  • hot cooked spaghetti
  • ground beef
  1. Brown and drain ground beef, set aside
  2. Sauté onions & garlic in hot oil
  3. Stir in the next ingredients
  4. Add beef in
  5. Simmer uncovered 30 minutes
  6. Serve over spaghetti
  7. Top with cheeses (optional)

(Any remaining sauce freezes well.)
